    The heads of a three generational housefold. One of the daughters has a child. Her husband did something she strongly disapproved of and she sent him away. There is no reconciliation in their tradition. Afterwards she moved back with her parents.

  • Preparation for the New Moon
    At the time of the New Moon celebration, the elders of the village gather, both men and women, and the women wash the hands of the men and the other women in preparation for the celebration to follow that evening.

  • Injured by a Traffic Accident
    This man was injured by a traffic accent while riding on the back of a motor bike in the city. As a result, he can no longer work and must be taken care of by other members of the village.

Akha and Lahu Hill Tribes - Northern Thailand
In 2004 I visited two northern hill tribe villages, the Akha and the Lahu. I stayed with a family in each of the villages - ate and slept with them and walked around each village for three days.
